Mitali Banerjee’s music evening on Friday


Indira Gandhi Cultural Centre (IGCC) is organising a “musical evening” by Mitali Banerjee from India on Friday(March 4).
The event will be held at 6 pm at the IGCC, House No. 35, Road No. 24, Gulshan-1, Dhaka, an Indian High Commission press release said here today.
Mitali Banerjee was initially inspired in music at her tender age from her mother late Mayarani Bhattacharya and later from others such as Shefali Roy and Asit Kumar Sen etc. She was trained under legendary Nazrul Sangeet singer late Biman Mukhopadhyay.
She has learned Hindustani classical music under Pandit Samaresh Chaudhury. She is an enlisted artist of All India Radio. She has completed Sangeet Visharad in Nazrulgeeti and Hindustani Classical Vocal Music from Prayag Sangeet Samiti of Allahabad.
Mitali Banerjee has also completed Sangeet Bhushan in Rabindra Sangeet from Prachin Kalakendra of Chandigarh.
A singer of light Indian music in private TV channels, Mitali Banerjee performed in different stages of Kolkata, the release said.
