"Kaspersky" demanded to cancel the ban on software company in US government agencies

Kaspersky Lab requires that the ban on the use of antivirus in US government institutions be abolished.

The company "Kaspersky Lab" demands in the US court to cancel the order of the US Department of Homeland Security, which banned the use of the company's software in US government agencies, the RIA Novosti reported.

"The court must satisfy this request and pre-cancel the order (ministries - ed.)", - said in the petition of the lawyers of Kaspersky Lab, filed in the federal court of the District of Columbia.

Advocates of an international company specializing in the development of protection systems against all kinds of cyberthreats claim that the orders of the Ministry violate the rights of the company in accordance with the Fifth Amendment to the US Constitution, which guarantees the right to a proper trial. In addition, we are talking about voluntaristic (voluntarism - the desire to realize the desired goals without taking into account the objective circumstances and possible consequences) of the decision of the authorities, in support of which no evidence is given, claim the plaintiff's lawyers.

"In the absence of an immediate court decision, the order (of the ministry - ed.) Will continue to inflict irreparable damage to the plaintiff's reputation, which will lead to continued significant losses in sales in the US and abroad. The direct result of these government actions was that large retail chains in the US removed Kaspersky Lab products from their shelves, "the petition says.

In particular, in the fourth quarter of 2017, sales in the US fell by 61% in annual terms, and in the second half of 2017 - by 50% compared with the same period in 2016.

"(We are talking about) a clear constitutional violation, especially given that responsible government officials acknowledged that there is no conclusive evidence that Kaspersky Lab directed or assisted any breach of information security. At the same time (these officials - ed.) Recognized their desire to damage the commercial interests of the plaintiff, "the petition notes.

Kaspersky Anti-Virus suspects of espionage
Recall, US President Donald Trump signed a law that prohibits the use of Kaspersky Lab software in US government structures. The Russian company is suspected of having links with the FSB, which used Kaspersky Lab's anti-virus software as a tool for espionage. The company denies this.
