Miklos: Ukraine will not be able to fulfill its obligations without cooperation with the IMF

Ukraine will not be able to fulfill

The head of the Strategic Group of Advisers on Reform Support in Ukraine said that Ukraine needs to cooperate with the IMF.

Ukraine is obliged to continue reforms in 2018, despite the approach of elections, in part because it is its obligations to the International Monetary Fund, without cooperation with which it will not be able to fulfill its debt obligations.

This was stated by Ivan Miklos, head of the Strategic Group of Advisers on Reform Support in Ukraine, on the air of Channel 5, Interfax-Ukraine reports.

"It's normal in democratic countries when politicians do not want to make reforms before elections because reform people are afraid, but in 2018 it is necessary that the reforms continue, because Ukraine is in a situation where there will be no progress without reforms and people need Since Ukraine will not be able to finance its obligations without the program of the currency fund (without reforms), which means that it is necessary that these commitments are fulfilled (on the reforms undertaken before the IMF), "Miklos said.

He noted that one of the most important obligations of Ukraine to the IMF is the implementation of anti-corruption reform, in particular, the adoption of the draft law on the Anti-Corruption Court.

"It will be necessary that these prerequisites of the monetary fund are met in the spring, that is, until the end of May, so as not to create problems in this financing." So there is still time ... But not only need to have some kind of Anticorruption court - one must have such a court , which will work. And not only by the name of the anti-corruption, but the one that will fight the big corruption, "Miklos said.

As is known, a number of international partners of Ukraine issued tough demands to Kiev because of the draft law on the anti-corruption court that was submitted to the Verkhovna Rada by the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko.
