Man killed by ‘robbers’ in Brahmanbaria

Police recovered the body of a man from Kasba-Chargachh road at Raitala in Kasba upazila in Brahmanbaria district on Friday.

The victim was identified as Inu Miah, son of late Hafiz Uddin of Sarishahati village in Gouripur upazila of Mymensingh district, UNB reports.

Locals and police said Md Jakir Hossain, a CNG-run auto-rickshaw driver, on Thursday night took a passenger from Tinlakhpir CNG stand for Chargachh. He also took Inu Miah as a company for the trip.

Around 2am on Friday, a group of masked robbers stopped the three-wheeler at Raitala.

The driver and the passenger got out of the vehicle and fled the scene, leaving Inu, who was asleep, in the auto.

The gangsters hacked Inu with sharp weapons, leaving him dead on the spot.

On information, a team of Kasba Police Station recovered the body in the morning.

Victim’s son Borhan Uddin filed a case with the police station.

Meanwhile, police detained Jakir for interrogation in connection with the incident.
