Speakers of the parliaments of Ukraine and Georgia declare the need to join forces for the entry of both countries into the EU and NATO.

Ukraine and Georgia should unite their efforts to achieve joint goals - membership in the European Union and NATO, said the Speaker of the Georgian Parliament Irakli Kobahidze.

"Our states have common challenges, and therefore we must unite our efforts to respond to them and achieve our goals ... Our main goal is full membership in the European Union and NATO .In this context, it is very important to unite our efforts so that it does happen ", I. Kobakhidze said at a joint briefing with Verkhovna Rada Speaker Andrei Parubiy on Wednesday in Kiev.

In turn, the speaker of the Ukrainian parliament expressed his belief that this goal will be achieved sooner or later. "I am sure that it is only a matter of time when Ukraine and Georgia will become members of the EU and NATO," said A.Parubiy.

In addition, I. Kobakhidze noted the commonality of the problem of Russian aggression for both Ukraine and Georgia. "The common challenges are the occupation of our territories and aggression by the Russian Federation, in this context cooperation between our states is very important," the speaker of the Georgian parliament said.

"We strongly condemn the annexation of Crimea and Russia's aggressive actions in the Donbas," Kobakhidze stressed.
