Poroshenko thanked the US for giving lethal weapon to Ukraine

According to the President, Ukraine is grateful to the USA for the decision to provide it with weapons.

President Petro Poroshenko thanked the United States of America for its support of Ukraine.

"Last year our American partners confirmed their leadership in opposing Russian revanchism.With the first meeting with President Trump, we coordinated the strengthening of our strategic partnership on the basis of the Great Peace Agreement and the Great Success Plan," the Head of State said during a meeting with the heads of diplomatic missions of foreign states and international organizations accredited in Ukraine.

The President added: "We are grateful for the" peace through force "approach and, accordingly, the decision to provide Ukraine with lethal military weapons, as well as coordinated steps to implement the initiative to deploy the UN peacekeeping mission in the occupied Donbas."

According to him, Ukraine also highly appreciates the firm position of the United States on transatlantic unity and solidarity with the Ukrainian state, including the policy of sanctions.

"They are the most effective and civilized response of aggressive Russia," the Head of State said.

As reported, in December, US President Donald Trump approved the sale of lethal weapons to Ukraine. According to the American television channel ABC, the Trump administration plan envisages the delivery of 35 launchers and 210 anti-tank missiles to Ukraine.

Javelin anti-tank missile systems can also be included in the batch.
